Do you have a database that needs cleaning up? Maybe some of your emails are bouncing back? Or maybe you know there are heaps of empty cells in your database but you don’t have the time to go through them all and tidy them up. All good questions and luckily we can help!
Lets start with a question. What is Data Cleaning?
Data cleansing or data cleaning is the process of detecting and correcting corrupt or inaccurate records from a record set, table, or database and refers to identifying incomplete, incorrect, inaccurate or irrelevant parts of the data and then replacing, modifying, or deleting the dirty or coarse data. And why is it so important to have a clean database
Its all about decision making. If you are relying on the data you have to help make your business decisions, then its very important that you have clean data. Otherwise, you could potentially be making bad decisions and wasting money on those decisions that are burning a hole in your profits. And if you are not utilising your data then you are also wasting your time collecting it.
How we clean your database?
Identify and remove duplicate records
Remove commas, typos, additional spaces and any formatting that will effect the data analysis
Identify and treat empty cells based on business requirements
Identify and treat data in the wrong cell or column due to data entry issues
Check for incorrect data types and misspelled data classes such as N/A compared to Not Applicable
Some other things we offer
We verify that the email addresses in your database are valid and active without sending an email to each address. Essentially, email addresses can either be entered incorrectly in the first place or become redundant if an employee leaves the company. How do we validate the email addresses?
Duplicate removal prior to processing
Mail server verification for User Verification
Domain health check and validation
Geo-coding is the process of converting an address to an actual position on a map as a Latitude and Longitude point. While sounding quite simple, this can be a complex process due to the address first having to be validated against an ever changing database of addresses that is regularly updated. Having an actual point on the map rather than doing analysis by postcode can provide a much more detailed understanding of a database.
Reverse Geo-coding like the name suggests is the reverse of Geo-coding, so its the process of converting a Latitude and Longitude to an address.
Database Analysis and Reporting
We take all the hard work out of it for you and provide an analysis of your database back to you in a report based on the questions you are wanting to answer in your business. We analyse the data for trends and hot spots and map this data to provide a visual representation of your business as it currently stands, and the potential opportunity for growth and increasing profits.
And what does this cost?
